VERO BEACH FLORIDA AND FROU FROU ST TROPEZ
I just returned from a brief impromptu visit to Vero Beach Florida with a bestie of 50 years (yes, true) to visit a bestie of 50 years – (yes, also true) in need of her people and a little fun. It was also an opportune time to visit a few boutiques too, as Tiger and the Monkey are planning to move from online only into resort boutiques, so hey, let’s drink some champagne, enjoy the blinding heat and acquaint ourselves with the lovely town of Vero Beach. We found the most delightful boutique, Frou Frou St Tropez, and we’re planning to harass, if necessary, the owner to carry our line. We need her and she needs us.

The trip got me thinking (again) about what the definition of luxury is and how we at Tiger and the Monkey define that.
Things we didn’t do in Vero: go to a luxury resort, get our nails did, eat expensive food, pose on the beach. What we did do: hang out until 3 am both nights (I’m normally in bed by 9:00 pm), try on, style and grainy video the entire new Tiger and the Monkey collection in my friend’s condo parking lot (now now, don’t be judgmental- it really looks jungly in some of the shots), ordered take-out Thai food and Wawa shorties, drank enough champagne (the good shit I can’t pronounce) to fill a swimming pool and laughed hysterically for 2.5 days. Friends, authentic fun and comfort in what can be the glory of everyday life. The second night, I slept in my Helena kaftan that I’d been wearing since 10 am -it’s that comfortable- saw no logical reason to disrobe.
As always, we parted loving each other more than ever and planning our next rendezvous. Not sure where it will be other than warm, wild and together. If that’s not luxury, I don’t know what is. Let us know what your definition is.
