Tiger and the Monkey launch party at a luxury home in The Hamptons
We were lucky enough to be introduced to Ali Graham from The Agency by our friend and advisor Andrea. What good fortune! Ali graciously agreed to host our launch party at her home, which happens to be the cat’s pajamas, and it went perfectly. With Ali’s permission, our colleague and friend Kim turned a downstairs hangout room into a high-end luxury boutique. An elegant venue both to show off and provide our customers with the opportunity to both see and feel our luxurious handcrafted garments. The boutique combined with a lively and fun atmosphere contributed to by St. Spritz and Aplos made for a magical afternoon.
Tiger and the Monkey manifested!
We all decided to make our choice of what to wear to the party on the day of to be sure it matched our individual vibes of the moment. Ali, the hostess, who is an admitted “kaftan person” looked casually elegant in “The Dayna” (with the feathers), Kim was in her favorite kaftan “The Milena” probably because not only can she wear enormous amounts of jewelry with it but it also has feathers – Kim likes all the things, all at once…Luanne was feeling omniscient that day so it only made sense to wear “The Laura” kaftan (it has that brilliant “eye” pattern) and she wears that one of a kind up-do (my niece says her hair alone could go viral on TikTok) so the look really worked. Susie was feeling feminine and flirty, so she chose “The Gabriella” bambula and paired it with some white wide leg pants and a tank – that reminds me, we need to do some wide leg pants in our next collection, but I digress.
I wore “The Veronica” kaftan because I’m a redhead, so I look bitchin’ in that green plus it’s handwoven cotton with our exclusive Tiger and Monkey handstitched shibori design. I needed to feel comfortable, elegant and light so it was the perfect choice for the day. I started the party with a bright yellow head scarf on but as the day progressed I decided (ab)normal Samme hair was the way to go. Our garments lend themselves to allowing you to present yourself however you are feeling that day or that moment and that, to me, is luxury. The party ended with a raffle that Deidre, a friend of Andrea’s won (not fixed I promise). As her prize she chose “The Gabriella” bambula that she planned to wear over a tank dress at the Paris Olympics.
The delightful and gorgeous Tyler Whitman from The Agency also decided he needed a T&M bambula (“The Sasha”) of his own and everyone at the party agreed. The day could not have been better and we are eternally grateful to Ali for providing us with such an amazing opportunity to introduce our brand to the east coast.
